Privacy Policy

Hi there! QV is a personal project created to make quadratic voting more accessible to everyone. This privacy policy is simple and straightforward because I believe in transparency.

I'm building this tool because I'm passionate about better decision-making processes, not to collect or use your data.

My Approach to Your Data

QV is designed to be minimally invasive. I only store what's absolutely necessary for the app to function:

The Technical Stuff

When you add QV to Slack, the app needs:

• Your Slack workspace ID and name (so votes show up in the right place)
• Access tokens (so QV can post messages and create votes)
• User IDs (to know who's voting on what)

Vote Information

The app also stores:

• The votes you create (questions, options, etc.)
• How people vote (their credit allocations)
• Basic usage data to help me fix bugs

How I Use This Information

Your data is only used to:

• Make the voting app work properly in your Slack
• Let you and your team see voting results
• Fix problems if something breaks
• Occasionally improve the app based on how people use it

That's it! I don't analyze your voting patterns, sell information to third parties, or use your data for anything beyond making QV work well.

Data Retention

QV retains data for the following periods:

• Workspace information (ID, name, access tokens): For as long as you have QV installed in your workspace
• Voting data (questions, options): For as long as you have QV installed in your workspace
• Individual votes: These are always anonymized and cannot be traced back to specific users
• Usage logs: For 30 days to help identify and fix technical issues (contain no personal information)

We retain your data until you uninstall the app. When you uninstall QV from your Slack workspace, we will automatically delete all associated workspace information and data. This is the primary method for data deletion. Any aggregated voting statistics are fully anonymized and may be retained for improving the service.

Sharing Your Information

I don't share or sell your information to anyone. Period. The only exceptions would be:

• If I need to use a service provider to help run the technical parts of QV
• If I'm legally required to share information

Security

I do my best to keep your information secure with reasonable precautions and security features. I'm always working to improve security as the project develops.

Your Data Rights

QV does not store personal data beyond basic workspace information and anonymized voting data. The primary method for data deletion is to uninstall the QV app from your Slack workspace, which automatically triggers deletion of all your workspace data.

If you'd like to access your data, or have any data-related concerns (including if you don't want your data to be deleted upon app uninstallation), please email omrinuri@gmail.com with the subject "Data Request" and include:

• Your Slack workspace name
• Workspace ID (if you know it)
• Description of your request

I will respond to your request within 30 days.

Changes to This Policy

If I make any significant changes to this policy, I'll update the date at the top and do my best to let you know.
